Producer FAQ
How do I find out if an insurer is
admitted or surplus line in Illinois?
Reports from insurance market reporting agencies, such as Best's,
Standard & Poor's and Ward's will usually show the states in which a
given insurer is licensed to do business. The insurer, itself, can also tell you
the states in which it has a license. If you are unable to determine the
regulatory status from these sources, you can contact the Surplus Line
Association for guidance.
