Remember when you are filing policies for these insurers, all regular surplus line taxes and stamping fees still apply, and the service of suit requirement does not. Also remember, for these companies, there is a different Notice to Policyholder requirement. Pursuant to paragraph 10.5 of Section 445, you must use the following "Notice to Policyholder" on the declarations page:
NOTICE TO POLICYHOLDER: This contract is issued by a domestic surplus line insurer, as defined in Section 445a, pursuant to Section 445 and as such is not covered by the Illinois Insurance Guaranty Fund.
